The miniature helmet is based on the close helm which became popular in the C16.
They were used widely during the Civil war and in tournaments.
Some of the finest examples were made in Henry VIIIs armories in Greenwich.
Our miniature comes complete with a stand for display purposes.
It has a black distressed finish. The visor lifts as the original would have.
