Viking Telimark Shield Boss.
Make your own Shield.
The centre of a lot of viking/saxon period shields had a shield Boss.
Its function was too deflect blows of an opponents weapon and to provide
a space in the maiun shield for the hand to curl around the grip.
The Telemark shield boss is based on finds made in the Telemark region of Norway.
It has a distinctive rough saw tooth edge along its diameter
There are four pre drilled holes on the diameter for fixing to the shield.
Its manufactured from steel and comes coated in a light oil.
