The Great Seal Of Henry Plantagenet (1133 – 1189) Throned.

About “enry”

Henry Plantagenet came to power on 19 December 1154 as King Henry II was crowned at Westminster Abbey. Many claim he could be regarded as one of England’s greatest monarchs. After inheriting and uniting a ruined and divided kingdom he earned a fearsome reputation as an empire builder. Determined to assert his rights in all his lands, Henry II reasserted the centralized power of his grandfather, Henry I, in England. He issued the Constitutions of Clarendon, which restricted ecclesiastical privileges and curbed the power of church courts. He died of disease on 6th July 1189, his remaining sons were at war against him.

About our replica seals:

During the Victorian era, a now-forgotten collector gathered together a large number of plaster casts taken directly from seals on documents stored in churches libraries, and other document repositories. They lay virtually hidden and unused for around 150 years. All of the seals in our collection are hand-made from red resin, from the collected, forgotten, and re-found collection. Many of the originals may have been lost or destroyed.

Seal Size: 9 cm

Our replica seals are hand molded from quality red resin and then hand finished.  They are of the highest standard possible. They have a felted back and a small hook enabling wall mounting.
