Description

Description:

The  Viking shield depicts stylized images of Huginn and Muninn, the ravens belonging to Odin in Scandinavian mythology.
Huginn is the old Norse word for “thought” and Muninn is the old Norse word for “memory”.
Odin used the ravens to gather information by sending them out in the mornings to fly around his realms.
The shield is constructed from thick wood and has a wooden grip and steel boss.
There is a thick edging strip of rawhide that is stitched onto the shield rim.
Originally this would have protected the shield from sword and axe blows.
These shields are handmade and may vary slightly from shield to shield.
Perfect for living history cosplay or as a display piece for the wall.
