Description

Inspired by the Isle of Lewis chess pieces.
The history-bonkers team decided to create a chess piece that never existed but should have!
This piece is Queen Boudica, the enigmatic leader of an uprising that is unparalleled in the history of Britain.

Very little is known about her.
An account of her “Spat” with Rome is recorded in Tacitus.
She reputedly united some of the Iron age tribes in Britain and then went on a slash-and-burn campaign to Colchester, London and St Albans. She and her army was eventually defeated by the Roman army on their way back from having a short break on the Isle of Anglesey in Wales (Thats where Lemmy from Motorhead grew up)
Archaeologically speaking, evidence can be found under several feet of soil in Colchester. It’s known as the Boudican layer and shows huge amounts of rubble and burning.

Hand-made item. Resin cast then hand-finished. Matt finish.
Around 9cm tall or a little under 4″.
“Boo the angry chic” has been sculpted with his distinctive shield sword.
