Description

The Sigurd the dragon slayer chess piece is inspired by the figure Sigurðr or Siegfried who features in both Scandinavian and german mythology.
He was the slayer of Fafnir the dragon. After this, he became the owner of the dragon’s hoard known as the hoard of Niflungar.
The History bonkers chess piece represents Sigurd with a spear and axe, befriending a dragon.
The piece can be used to represent the knight figure.
History Bonkers produces several other chess pieces in the style of chess pieces found on the Isle Of Lewis in 1831

The figure is about 96mm tall or around 4″
It weighs around 128gms

All of the History Bonkers chess pieces are made from an original sculpture made by Nick Hunter.
The original then have a mould taken from it which is used to create the figures.
They are all handmade and finished from a poly resin by the production team at OakApple Studios.
